How Therapy Sessions Work

We begin with one or two initial Assessment Consultations of 50 minutes during which we will discuss what brings you to therapy. You will be invited to talk about your current difficulties as well as your personal history. You may find that you feel relief sharing difficult thoughts and feelings in a place where you feel listened to and supported. There is no obligation to continue with therapy afterwards.

Your sessions are usually held at the same time once weekly for 50 minutes. I will keep this space for you every week and no one else can use your appointment time. You will lead the discussion, bringing whatever is in your mind that day. As we explore your thoughts and feelings together we start to understand what forces are motivating you in your life. Understanding yourself better may help you feel more capable of making change.

You will need to have a private space where you will not be disrupted or overheard. I will ensure that I conduct our meetings in a secure and confidential space. Before our meeting, I will send you a link to access your session using a platform such as Zoom or Teams.
